Make sure you stay tuned until the end because I’m going to give you The SheRocks@College Method to Planning Your Months, Weeks and Days in college check list. How to Organize Your Brand New Planner in College
Before I get started make sure you subscribe to my channel and hit the bell so you get notified every time I create a new video.
So let’s talk about how to setup and organize your planner in college.
STEP ONE: SELF REFLECTION + GOAL SETTING
My favorite kind of planners are the ones that have life reflection and goal setting pages at the front because I feel like if I’m going to get my life together, I need know where I’m coming from, who I want to be, what I want to do and have. I need some vision and direction.
So before I start putting due dates in and all that, I always start my planner setup process with some journaling and self-reflection.
STEP TWO: SEMESTER AT A GLANCE
After I’ve set my goals I like to create a place where I can see everything that will be happening this semester in one place. This helps me to see when my busiest points of the semester will be so that I can prepare for it ahead of time, because I feel like sometimes those moments sneak up on us and all hell breaks lose — you don’t sleep for days and you’re hating life.
Sometimes I will do this on a big wall calendar, I’ll put all the months up but I like that The College Productivity Kit has a place where you can do this.
STEP THREE: MONTHLY PLANNING
I will sit down and plug in all due dates, exam dates, events, birthdays into my month view but I take it one step further.
I also like to break down my monthly planning by class. I usually will write down all the exams/assignments coming up for that class and then I will break down those exams/assignment into small easy to do tasks so that when I sit down to study, I never have to guess what I should be doing or working on. —
STEP FOUR: WEEKLY PLANNING
At the beginning of every week usually on Sunday I sit down and plan my week by first looking at my Monthly Class Assignment Breakdown, using the SheRocks@College Method to prioritizing my tasks, I highlight the things that are coming up this week or need to be started this week.
Next I transfer those things to my weekly layout by category and I brain dump anything else that is on my mind.
Then I make sure to put in any prescheduled time into my weekly schedule (lectures, meetings, work schedule, appointments)
This allows me to see how much time is mine to play around with.
STEP FIVE: DAILY PLANNING
At the beginning of every day in the morning while I’m having breakfast or drinking my coffee I will sit down and and review my brain dump list and how much time I have to play around with that day and I pick the Top 3 Things that MUST be done that day.
I schedule them into that day and then show up for that appointment with myself. If I have more free time, I can choose to knock off more things from my brain dump list or not. That’s the beauty and freedom of this way of planning.
You can trust that everything that needs to get done is getting done at the right time so you don’t feel guilty when you’re relaxing and you can actually enjoy your down time.

Hi Clarrisa,
Can you please let your viewers know when we can purchase a hard copy of The College Productivity Kit. I really want to purchase it. I checked on Amazon and Target and could not find it. It appears that it is sold out in all stores. I know you have the paperless one. I would prefer the hard copy. Thank you.
