Did you know you can ask yourself one question to take you from failing to passing? I know – you’re either in the midst of midterms or putting yourself back together after the whirlwind of one of the craziest times during the semester (the second being finals week). But I promise you there is value and insight in this season – and I’m going to share what that is!

Midterms are my favorite time of year as a Virgo student. (I realize I sound like a total nerd–I accept that)

Why do I love midterms so much?

Because it gives me a chance to take a step back and really look at how things are going for me.  Am I doing as well as I wanted in my classes? Am I enjoying myself in-between all the craziness of readings, papers and exams?

Midterms are a chance to ask yourself, “What am I currently doing that is not helping me achieve my goals or feel good about this whole academics and life thing?”

This is exactly the topic I went into detail with during a Periscope broadcast I did recently.  I share with you the ONE question that can help you get the grades you are striving for in college.  This is probably the question that will change your whole semester for the better and a question you would never think to ask yourself.

One Question to Take You from Failing to Passing

Ready for it?

Are you ready to turn your grades around after midterms?

  1. Ask yourself, “What study methods did I use to prepare or study for this test that did not help me?”  In order to get the grade you want on your exam, you have to understand how to properly study for the type of exam your professor is giving you.
  2. Review your exam and figure out what your biggest mistakes were.  If you want to improve you have to be able to be honest with where you are dropping the ball or where your preparation needs a little bit of extra love and care.
  3. Based on the top 2 steps, create a plan for your next exam and stick with it. Evaluate how it worked after you get your exam back and keep tweaking until you land on your study skill pot of gold.  In the medical world we call this the Plan, Do, Study, Act (PDSA) method.

What’s going to be your plan of action for your upcoming exam?

I want to hear all about it in the comments below.
